Where is the woodland? (The fields and the flowers)

This is the first of two pieces written to highlight the plight of many British villages that are losing their countryside to urbanisation. After a calm start the developers move in and the piece gets busy, a trombone solo echoes the rhythm of the words in the title before the whole band takes up the cause.

Where is the wildlife? (That lived in the woods)

The second piece of the two is concerned with the wildlife that lived in the countryside before the developers took over. The Horn takes up the rhythm of the words in the title, the theme is then developed in a variety of ways by the rest of the players.
